Melbourne, down in Victoria is a bustling cosmopolitan city that year in year out has been ranked as one of the best places in the world in which to live.  The lifestyle magazine of Monocle has rated Melbourne no lower than third in the world every single year since 2002, and that is some feat.  The beautiful climate, the outdoor space and the international flavour means that it’s home to people from all corners of the globe, and it’s also home to the magnificent Melbourne Food and Wine Festival too.

For the past 20 years the beautiful Australian city of Melbourne has played host to one of the best food and drink festivals in the Southern Hemisphere, and what started as a tiny event with just a handful of organizers and partners has grown into a full blown 2-week foodies paradise.  This year, running from 27th of February to the 15th of March the 2015 event will be the biggest yet, and the festivals aim, as always, is to put the spotlight on sunny Melbourne as the ‘food and wine capital of Australia.’

This year there are over 200 events being held in and around Melbourne, all celebrating the diversity of tasty treats and wonderful wines of the region and it’s a time of year when locals and tourists alike have already come to terms with the fact that they may be putting on an extra few pounds…all in the name of research of course.

No matter what gets your taste buds tingling then you’ll find it during this wonderful celebration of food and drink, and you’ll be able to enjoy it in a huge variety of venues across the city, as almost all eateries get involved in one way or another.  From sizzling steaks to divine veggies, from fruit juices to vinos it’s got the lot, and a fun aspect of the whole festival is that you get to chat to many of the creators of the culinary masterpieces.

There really is so much going on and some of the highlights include the Crawl ‘n’ Bite, where you get to choose either restaurant, bar or wine and then walk, stagger or stroll around the city tasting delicious dishes that are accompanied by perfectly matched wines, spirits and cocktails!  Sounds like the kind of walking tour that many would enjoy.  There are talks on the future of food, cookery masterclasses and more than enough wine tasting to satisfy the most inquisitive among us, and there’s the extremely popular ‘World’s Longest Lunches’ in which huge tables are arranged all over Victoria’s gardens and vineyards allowing thousands of food lovers to enjoy a four hour eating bonanza.

What a great festival it is, serving up the very best in food and drink, and if you’ve got a hunger for sampling the finer things in life but a two week festival of food and wine just won’t satisfy your needs then maybe a tasty win on the hot n spicy Australian Superdraw could be your ticket to more than a fortnight of foodie fantasy.  March 28th is the date of the next Superdraw from Down Under, and AILA has all you need to become a part of it, with getting involved to play lottery online is so easy to do.  You can get into the mix by simply clicking here, or should you prefer to speak to an agent then a click here will do nicely.  Since 1999 AILA has provided lottery players from around the world with the chance to be a part of the biggest Australian lottery draws with playing the lottery online, and the jackpots, just like the Melbourne Food and Drink Festival have got bigger with each passing year, and this March 28th there’s a whopping $21 Million there for the taking.
